Imitation of Life 1959 Hele Film Nederlands
Lora is een actrice die het maar niet lukt om door te breken. Op een dag aan het strand ontmoeten Lora en haar dochtertje de zwarte Annie en haar dochtertje Sarah Jane, die een blank uiterlijk heeft. Annie is hard op zoek naar onderdak en ze mag met Sarah Jane bij Lora intrekken als hulp in de huishouding. Als de jaren verstrijken komt het succes toch voor Lora als actrice en de vier blijven al die tijd samen. Maar al van jongs af aan heeft Sarah Jane er problemen mee dat ze een zwarte afkomst heeft en probeert dit zo goed mogelijk te verbergen voor de buitenwereld, tot groot verdriet van haar moeder.
